Safavi Sanctuary

The original, story telling, designed by Villa Sufia Design Studio limited edition silk rugs, “Majles Series”, represent Shanameh stories which are narrated on each Rug.Vertical perspective is a type of perspective that is used in graphics. In this way, according to the character of the subject or the importance of the subject, the artist has considered more space for it and formed the desired composition based on it, which is the simplest type of depth view. In Iran’s coffee house and miniature paintings, the figures of the innocent Imams or kings are always bigger and stronger than other people specially when telling Shahnameh stories. In the authority perspective, the more important the subject is, the bigger and bolder it is, and more attention is paid to their clothes; Instead, less important characters are shown smaller and further away. These elements are all seen on these artistic rugs. The moving  “Persian Cat” is a symbol of Iran who is the narrator of the story jumping from one rug to the next in the created animation. From the aesthetic point of view, the miniature has depicted the greatest events of its time. Our roots are coded in the paintings of the daily life of our ancestors. The key to many concepts that make up today’s civilisation can be identified in the depiction of the daily life meetings of our ancestors. A part of the civilisation that we are proud of today has been depicted and documented in these paintings so that we can trace the DNA of today’s civilization by looking at them. Art is not just about aesthetics, but wants to express concepts that have grown and developed over time. Perhaps it can be said that the value of historiography through images is that you can live your own experiences in parallel lives. “Majles” Series is a collection of different ambiances that has been experienced in the history of Iran and each of them has been signed with a Persian cat.
